Tower construction beside Stratford International station edges forward
Work on a tower located beside Stratford International DLR and Southeastern stations is moving ahead as the arches at street level take shape.
This is the Rondo tower which due to complete in 2025.
I’ve always been taken with the arches which are set to feature commercial space upon completion.
As an added bonus it will help obscure the dismal student block from this area.
The biggest change from recent months appears to be a bit more visible progress on the tower seen above.
It’s notable how this area of Stratford seems ever busier – as does the DLR when getting off or waiting for a train.
A good bit of forward planning to build the line up there before homes and commercial spaces were built out.
This area is just around the corner from Westfield Shopping Centre’s northern entrance and the Southeastern station with wince-inducing ticket prices.
Though funny to see how there’s more staff here at one station than Southeastern can manage on an entire Metro line in south east London between London Bridge and Dartford. It really does speak volumes of what is more important to them.
