Direct daily Greenwich / Stratford to Brussels coach to commence in addition to Amsterdam
A few weeks back this site covered a new daily coach service which runs each evening from North Greenwich station to Amsterdam.
Flixbus are also now set to run a direct coach service from late August to Brussels in addition to the Amsterdam service.
It’s set to depart Stratford around 2pm each day North Greenwich station fifteen minutes later (times do slightly vary each day) and takes around eight hours hours to reach Brussels calling at Lille en route.
The service begins in Birmingham and calls at Stratford before North Greenwich then onto the channel coast.
A return service leaves Brussels at 12:20pm in the afternoon.
Despite being listed as a stop the only tickets to buy appear to be to and from Stratford at the moment. Flixbus have been contacted for comment.
Whether you can put up with eight hours on a coach will determine how keen you are though this does at least remove the need to trek to Victoria Coach Station for international coaches which is never the ideal option from south east London and north west Kent.
There’s two trains per hour on the Bexleyheath line to Victoria and then the dash through the station, through the shopping centre to the station which always seems stressful no matter how much time is allowed.
Give me an easier journey to north Greenwich or Stratford any day. Flixbus may also have noticed that Eurostar no longer stop at Ebbsfleet which was a decent option for those in SE London and NW Kent – albeit not great by rail with poor connections between Northfleet and Ebbsfleet.
A coach departing from Stratford or Greenwich will also avoid possible long delays leaving Victoria and heading out of London (there is of course Blackwall tunnel and the A102 to contend with though).
The Stratford stop is on Montfichet Road next to Westfield and close to the 108 bus stop from Lewisham and Greenwich. It’s also quick and easy to reach via the DLR, Elizabeth line and tube including the Jubilee line.
You can read about the separate daily coach between Greenwich and Amsterdam here.
Thanks for publicizing this route. Is there any easy way to see all the national and international coach routes that stop in Greenwich?
How does that get through the tunnel?!
