Greenwich Builds: Timelapse video shows progress at Kidbrooke council housing
A video from construction company Durkin has been uploaded showing progress on construction of new council homes as part of Greenwich Builds.
Greenwich Council are undertaking new homes at two adjacent sites near Kidbrooke station and Thomas Tallis school.
One site will see 117 homes with more info here. An adjacent site will see hundreds more. That project was covered here.
Kidbrooke is seeing developments across the town with numerous other plots well underway. Transport for London’s joint venture beside the Kent-bound station platform will eventually see 619 homes.
A large number of blocks are now almost externally complete.
Berkeley Homes are working on four plots across their Kidbrooke Village development. A crane is now up for a block south of Peglar Square. Three other plots across the wider area are quite advanced.
One is to the south west of the overall site with final appearance due to be something a bit like this.
They also have lower-rise homes underway to the west of the site as well as two substantial blocks in the centre of the overall KV site. One where temporary shops used to be in an area they’ve branded Central Gardens (in phase 3) and another in Phase 5.
Berkeley have this week submitted plans to increase the number of homes by 23 at one site. It’s the latest increase of masterplan totals in the past few years taking totals well above 5,300 homes. When work begun the total planned was 3,500.
And finally Greenwich Council have other council homes underway at Rochester Way. Eighty homes are coming there.
Building more social housing homes is excellent for London people
