Greenwich depot work underway

Work on the site of a forthcoming distribution depot is now underwayin  after plans were approved in April 2022.

The site on Tunnel Avenue is being developed by Bloom.

The site sits close to the southern exit of Silvertown tunnel which will have a dedicated HGV lane shared with buses.

There’s speculation that another far large depot could be built in Charlton, though no plans have yet been submitted.

This site in Greenwich will see lorry deliveries then “last mile” local deliveries undertaken.

It sits opposite a recently opened hotel.

Tunnel Avenue remains a pretty dismal place for those on foot despite being one of the main pedestrian and cycling connections from east Greenwich to Greenwich peninsula.

Greenwich Council have yet to upload the Section 106 agreement 16 months after the plan was approved.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
