Thames Tideway update as work in Greenwich nears completion

An update has been released by Thames Water on progress along the multi-billion Thames Tideway project.

There are two major worksites either side of Deptford creek.

On the Greenwich side an acoustic shed above a shaft leading to tunnels is be removed.

Major work is expected to finish by late 2024.

Ventilation columns with uplighting proposed in Deptford

Work has impacted upon the Ha’Penny Hatch crossing across the creek and completion should see the full path width reestablished.

The Deptford worksite is set to become a park with green space reinstated after work finishes.

Saxon Wharf close to the Greenwich worksite is set to be developed with 145 homes.

When complete the Tideway project will see 25km of new sewer tunnels across London which will alleviate discharges of sewerage into the Thames.
