Woolwich craft beer pub seeks to expand

A bar at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich is seeking to expand into an adjacent unit recently completed which includes 146 homes.

Yorkshire based brewer Salt took over the former Hop Stuff taproom in Woolwich and another unit in Deptford after that company fell into difficulty.

Boosted by the arrival of the Elizabeth line and new housing the company seek to expand. Just this week they’ve also had a licensing meeting on extended hours.

Busy bar

If approved, the expansion could do more for Woolwich nightlife than many a “late” event put on by the council funded by the Mayor of London that ended at 8pm which was aimed at boosting nightlife.

Yep, 8pm finishes. That’s barely late afternoon.

Expansion proposed

Plans look to see expanded inside and outside seating and a DJ booth. As covered on my recent post other units nearby on the square will be taken on by new business.

The proposals can be viewed here. Credit to Nathan and Sacha for giving me the heads up in comments on the recent post on extended opening times.
