Woolwich Tramshed’s monthly stand-up returns this weekend

The monthly stand-up comedy night at the Tramshed is back tonight (Friday 17 November).

Three comedians will be taking the stage at the venue which was recently refurbished and expanded. See here for details.

Beside forthcoming new leisure centre

In the past I’ve covered the Woolwich Works but not really mentioned the Tramshed which is a massive oversite.

It’s been a core part of Woolwich’s cultural scene for many years and now has a new lease of life. You can view other events here.

Next door

Work continues next door at a new leisure centre next door to replace the Waterfront which will be demolished.

There’s not a great deal to see at street level which is mainly as the vantage point in fencing has sadly been covered over.

View from fence’s dedicated viewing panel before covered over recently

Then again, views from passing top decks of buses aren’t too great right now. Piling hasn’t yet begun it appears on most of the site, as there’s no movement at all on new shops and housing to the rear.
