Record shop opens on Deptford High Street

A new record shop has been opened in Deptford.

Upside Down Records is located at the northern end of the High Street in number 203 selling both new and second hand vinyl and CDs.

The owner previously worked as manager of Camberwell’s Rat Records for 15 years. Opening times are 10:30 – 6pm from Mon-Sat and 12 – 5pm on Sunday.

Local changes

A few changes have taken place in Deptford recently along the High Street. The former Job Centre pub from Antic has been renamed Jam Circus.

Pretty much next door saw Poundland departing their unit next to the station making way for Sainsbury’s.

There’s not been much word on pedestrianisation plans along the High Street mentioned by the authority earlier this year.

Work on hundreds of homes in the near vicinity continues at the former Tidemill School site.

Work on hundreds more are due to start soon with various sites seeing plans, the biggest of which is Sun Wharf.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • I go to Deptford infrequently and don’t often venture to that end of the high street, but will make a beeline for the shop on my next visit.
