Short-lived candy shop in Greenwich town centre sees new business open

An American candy shop which closed in Greenwich town centre has seen a new business open on site.

Like other tourist areas such as Oxford Street, Greenwich saw a candy shop open near the Cutty Sark which didn’t last too long.

Now plans are in for Amorino to make alterations to the building – though the company appear to have opened before they have been approved.

The company are a French multi-national with branches across London and the UK as well as on the continent, Asia and North America. They specialise in desserts, coffees and of course ice creams.

This is their second Greenwich branch – though the other is a few thousands miles away in Greenwich Village, New York. The New York branch closes later mind.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
