Construction starting on 203 Greenwich Millennium Village homes
Construction work should be getting underway right about now on 203 homes in Greenwich according to new documents.
The next two plots at GMV – named 401 and 403 are to commence according to a timeline within a newly submitted report.
In recent weeks it emerged that Greenwich Council will be taking on 99 homes at the site.
Plots 401 and 403 sit to the south west of the newer phases close to the Odeon.
According to the application start on site was due for 29th January 2024 for preparatory works while construction would begin on 18th March 2024. Project completion is May 2026.
Design-wise it’s very similar in appearance to other plots recently completed.
Approved back in 2021, at the time TfL raised concerns over the high level of car parking at forthcoming plots.
Plots 401 and 405 include 226 car parking spaces.
Other plots underway nearby on Greenwich Peninsula include towers beside St Mary Magdalene school.
While closer to the o2 work is ongoing for another plot.
Whilst a student tower is recommended for approval in the next week beside the o2.
A decision on that tower is expected on 6th February.
I presume the 99 new homes for Greenwich Council will be for rent at market value up to the local housing allowance. Which used to be around £894.53 I believe. But this could have now changed.
