Stratford 36-floor student tower construction now underway

Work to construct a student tower in Stratford is underway shortly after demolition of an office block on site.

Over the last year Jubilee House has been coming down with a post or two on this site highlighting demolition.

Seen from station in summer 2023

Construction work begun soon after demolition with piling rigs now apparent on site with 719 student rooms on the way.

Here’s what is set to rise with a sixth form college at lower floors.

Tower on right now underway

Unite are building a the tower which will rise to 36 storeys in height.

A neighbouring 1980s building also has long term plans for replacement though that – as yet – is not underway.

Demolished in 2023

As ever in Stratford changes are popping up with proposals here and there. Another student block is planned to the west a short distance away while yet another beside the ste3ps leading to Westfield is approved.

This week I took a look but – in the evening pouring rain – it didn’t appear much progress had been made.

Demolished

The architect behind the tower now underway is Allford Hall Monaghan Morris. RG Group are contracting the building.
