All change at London Bridge: Student tower rises beside station

The area around London Bridge station is to see a new tower as “Chapter” rises.

Reaching 138 metres in height, the student block will be almost as tall as nearby Guy’s Hospital tower.

Developer Greystar and behind Chapter which sits beside the station on St Thomas’ Street. It’s now peeking up above platform canopy-level and visible when waiting for a train.

In the image above we can see both Guys on the right and Chapter. It’s seat to feature more than 900 student rooms across 39 floors.

Communal facilities at upper floors and a terrace are part of the project. Commercial space is included at ground-floor level in an area of reasonably high footfall.

Architects are Kohn Pedersen Fox.

The amount of passing pedestrians will certainly increase in years to come with other high density buildings next door.

It’s not the only major development here; an adjacent plot named “Edge” is seeing work begin on a 26-storey office block.

Completion of “Chapter” is expected in 2025.
