Hotel conversion at former office block coming to Stratford

Hotel company Travelodge have appointed a contractor to convert an office building into a 151-room hotel.

Gredley House is located on Stratford Broadway a few metres from Stratford High Street DLR station.

The 1980s block is also opposite the Stratford Centre shopping centre and near Stratford’s main station.

It’s the second site for the company in Stratford with another hotel located north of the station near Westfield and the Olympic Park.

Travelodge hotel expansion

Travelodge also propose a new hotel on Greenwich peninsula in an area set to see further major changes.

Travelodhe Greenwich tower approved

Yesterday this site looked at a newly submitted plan just over from the hotel site comprising 352 flats and 340 student rooms.

Barnes construction will undertake conversion work in Stratford ahead of an expected 2025 opening date.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

There's also a Facebook page for the site here

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • The new Travelodge Hotel in Stratford will be ideally located for Stratford Station and DLR providing good travel connections.
While the Travelodge will also create local jobs for local people. Nice to see the old office block converted and brought back in to use.
