Busy Plumstead bus stop finally repaired after wall collapse

A busy bus stop at Plumstead corner has finally reopened after the repair of a collapsed wall.

For those unaware, Plumstead corner sees many bus routes calling and acts as an interchange. The closure of this area caused a fair bit of hassle for many.

Worse, the wall beside the bus stop was known to be in poor shape for years. Cracks were reported for some time without action until it gave way.

After part of the wall fell, some buses didn’t stop here (routes are divided into two stops) in my experience though after a few months it appeared that buses due to call at the closed stop did stop at the one beside.

The wall is privately owned though authority’s do have power to ensure repairs were made, but this did not occur before it gave way in late 2023.
