Deptford sorting office building could become housing

Plans have been submitting to potentially build housing at the former site of Deptford sorting office.

The application to Lewisham Council from Marymount Properties Ltd seeks up to nine flats.

The building dates from 1911 according to the application and is a handsome low rise block.

Hopefully the frontage at least will be preserved.

This submission is the first stage of a sped up planning process known as “Permission in Principle”. Stage one seeks to determine whether a site is suitable for development.

If agreed stage two is “Technical Details Consent” which includes the design. That stage has yet to be reached.

Details of what has so far gone in to Lewisham Council can be seen here.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

There's also a Facebook page for the site here
