Police warn against potential Lewisham disorder and riots
Police have warned against any disorder or potential riot in Lewisham today with online rumours of potential gatherings and violence.
Additional officers will be around the town centre this afternoon and evening with Superintendent Charlene Pavitt releasing a statement.
Closing early
Lewisham market traders have been advised to close early at 2pm.
There are also fears of issues in other parts of London including Walthamstow and Croydon. Up to 6,000 police are on standby across the UK.
