Aerial light show expected tonight over Greenwich

A light show involving drones is expected tonight over Greenwich peninsula.

A NOTAM (a warning to alert aircraft pilots of potential hazards) has been issued for the event will be between 8pm tonight and 2am tomorrow morning.

A total of 550 unmanned aerial vehicles set to be included:

“UAS SWARM OPR WI 0.1NM RADIUS OF 513001N 0000006W (NORTH GREENWICH, LONDON). SWARM COMPRISED 550 UAS. MAX HGT 400FT AGL. FOR INFO 07494 931472. AR-2024-4918/AU2”.

It’s not the first aerial air traffic control warning with the area being quite popular for such displays.

Once such recent event was in July. They’re not designed for public shows but often for publicity or advertising.

Still, if in the area keep an eye out and you may see a show. Cameras at the ready.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

There's also a Facebook page for the site here

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
