Contactless expansion start date cancelled due to Transport for London hacking
Plans to expand contactless payments to 47 various stations on 22nd September have been cancelled.
National Rail have stated: “Due to an ongoing cyber security incident pay as you go with contactless will no longer be launching at 47 stations across the South East on the 22nd of September.”
There’s no new date given for commencement.
The introduction is already running extremely late yet higher paper ticket fares were implemented some months ago without contactless payments due to launch alongside.
