Exhibit at Greenwich’s old Royal Naval College postponed

An event due to take place this month as part of the London Design Festival at the old Royal Naval College has been postponed.

Organisers state: “Due to unforeseen technical issues, London Design Festival regrets to announce that ‘Duo’ by Melek Zeynep Bulut, in the Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College, will not be open during the Festival on the dates it was due to be displayed.

“Old Royal Naval College and London Design Festival are addressing these challenges and working closely to explore alternative options and remain committed to delivering exceptional experiences. We apologise for any inconvenience.”

I’m really quite disappointed as had tickets to go visit. It would have been my first visit to the Painted Hall since an event to mark the anniversary’s of Nelsons death.

It’s normally expensive to get in to the Painted Hall, so this was a chance to avoid that and see what looked a brilliant art work.

Sadly it was not to be. Hopefully soon it will appear either there or somewhere else in the capital.

  • Hi J – I was also looking forward to this. The exhibit is postponed, but I had an email from the LDF saying that the tickets would still get you in to the painted hall – so you can still visit. Just won’t be as fun. (Friend joked to me before it was postponed that a giant magnetic tunnel was a pacemaker kryptonite – so am now very keen to find out why it was postponed.)

  • The Painted Hall usually costs £16.50 BUT if you go on the first Sunday of each month it’s only £5
