Proposed Abbey Wood tower sees screening opinion submitted
Planning documents have been submitted for a proposed tower in Abbey Wood.
The site near Abbey Wood station and opposite Sainsbury’s would reach 25 storeys and containing up to 230 homes according to a report submitted to Bexley Council.
It’s a small increase from around 200 homes previously suggested.
The site is one of a number of plots due for development. To the north Bexley Council plan to build housing.
Further north is Peabody land long cleared along Harrow Manorway.
A short distance away is Lyndean industrial estate where 600 homes have been talked about but no firm plans.
Aanother site is a proposed hotel and housing at the junction between Harrow Manorway and Eynsham Drive.
This isn’t a full planning application for the site at 4-8 Sedgemere Road as yet. This latest submissions is a screening opinion with the applicant suggesting a new Environmental Impact Assessment isn’t needed.
If Peabody wants to build more new homes and flats in and around London then they should help with the ongoing problem with homeless people across the capital.
