Woolwich Christmas tree last year

It’s good to see a proper tree and this always reminds me of the glory that was Crayford’s previous efforts.

You know it’s impressive when the surrounding fence is almost as big as the tree itself.

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.

  • Such a shame about the weather today for the turning on of the Woolwich Christmas lights. It is nice to see all the Christmas lights around the Borough which really cheers up the dull cold winter evenings.

  • Yes it was a shame the weather was so bad over the weekend. It is great seeing all the Christmas lights going up. Really does cheer a lot ot peopke up
I would like to see a festival of light from mid November to mid January each year so as well as the Christmas lights other faiths could also display lights to brighten up the long dark winter evenings. Bringing lots of colour to otherwise dull dark evenings.
