Greenwich Park to close as storm approaches

The Royal Parks have announced another closure at Greenwich Park in advance of an approaching storm.

Public entry is not permitted on Saturday 7 December.

In a statement issued on Friday the Royal Parks said:

“Due to severe wind gusts caused by Storm Darragh, all of the Royal Parks, plus Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens will be closed on Saturday 7 December.
“This closure includes all park roads and cycleways, cafés and kiosks, Parks Sports venues, the Serpentine Lido and Boating Lake, the Royal Parks Shop and Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.”
Bad news for those who like overpriced hot chocolate.
The Met Office have issued a rare red weather warning for the West Coast of Wales.

  • It makes sense to close the park during periods of severe stormy weather to keep visitors to the park safe. As vety high winds cam cause trees to full or cause damage to other structures and buildings..
    Health and safety as to be paramount..
