Christmas events coming to Lewisham town centre

A range of Christmas activities will be held this coming weekend in Lewisham town centre.

Events on Saturday 14 December and Saturday 15 December include a festive market, live performances and Santa’s Grotto on Sunday.

Events will be on between 10am to 4pm each day.

Saturday 14 December

Local artists and bands will be playing Christmas classic including:

  • 11.30am-12.30pm ODB Brass Band performing a special preview of their headline show ‘Big Brass Xmas Bash
  • 1pm-2pm Endurance Steel Orchestra soloist playing winter-warming tropical sounds
  • 2pm-3pm The Dearlings playing folky festive

A Christmas craft cabin will be on site enabling them to make their own wooden decorations.

A range of food stalls will also be sitting along the High Street.

Sunday 15 December

Further music will be live in the afternoon:

  • 12 noon-12.30pm: Cicada Sax Quartet playing a repertoire of saxophone sounds
  • 1pm-1.30pm: The Dearlings return for another performance of folky wintry hits
  • 1.30pm-2.30pm: Endurance Steel Orchestra duo bringing a little heat with a steel-pan take on festive classics
  • 2.30pm-3pm: Lewisham Goes Gospel with an unforgettable performance featuring a mix of Christmas classics, Gospel and inspirational songs that will have you dancing and moving

A craft fair will he held alongside Santa’s Grotto which is first come, first served between:

  • 10.30am-12.30pm
  • 1.30pm-3.30pm

All the usual market traders will also be in place.

Events are free and no booking required.

Market future

Lewisham market plan

Lewisham’s market is undergoing changes next year as part of a £24 million town centre project.

A new pavilion is to be built and the council intend for wider uses including events in the evening on completion.
