Greenwich bar closure sees change of use now planned
A site in Greenwich which was previously home to two bars will see a change of use after complaints over noise.
The last occupant of the Creek Road site saw their lease terminated in October 2024 after a warrant being issued to seize audio equipment and a summons for prosecution.
Before it was the 300 bar, the site was known as Vaxine under different ownership.
That also saw complaints before trading ceased in 2022. The application states “in August 2022 a public order incident took place where threats of violence were made towards customers and staff. They also raised concerns there was no working CCTV”.
Both bars occupied the ground floor of a new build which replaced the Lord Hood pub, which was demolished around 2018-2019.
The application now submitted would see “change of use of the ground and basement floor from Sui Generis (drinking establishment) to a flexible Class E use”.
It’s claimed that the presence of a nearby Weatherspoon means there is less need for a pub or bar, and other uses are more likely to succeed.
