Damaged rail sees Southeastern service restrictions next week

Damage to a rail near Ladywell means some stations on Southeastern will see services reduced from Monday 6 January for at least three weeks.

A speed restriction will be in place while a new part is manufactured resulting in some stations along the Hayes lines not seeing all trains stop as previously timetabled.

Southeastern state some trains towards central London won’t call at either Eden Park or New Beckenham throughout the day and during weekday peak periods. In addition some trains additionally won’t stop at Lower Sydenham or West Wickham.

In the opposite direction heading away from central London some trains won’t stop at Eden Park or New Beckenham. During the morning and evening peaks trains will stop at all stations as usual.

These changes will not be uploaded onto journey planners until tomorrow (Sunday 5 January).

  • What about the derailed Southeastern Class 395 “395008” Javelin train that derailed at Ramsgate back in late November last year. Is it still there or has it been removed and sent to Hitachi Ashford depot to be repaired.
