Some Southeastern services to see shorter trains after derailment
A number of Southeastern services will see shorter trains after a derailment last month.
HS1 services will be halved to six carriages on three services a day including the 6:24am from Sandwich to St Pancras as well as evening peaks services from St Pancras at 4:50pm to Faversham and the 6:25pm to Ramsgate.
It’s caused by a Class 395 HS1 train derailing in Ramsgate with two carriages heading past the buffers and damaging the train.
There’s not much in the way of slack in the fleet hence one train out of action means reduced lengths.
The Hitachi-built fleet comprises 29 trains and has now been in service for 15 years.
