Stratford towers near completion beside Docklands Light Railway station

Two towers under construction near Stratford International station are now nearing external completion as the area continues to evolve.

For my money these are some of the best blocks recently built in the capital. No tacked-on balconies nor simple, right-angled corners. Arches at street level will see commercial units.

Local changes

This area has changed a fair bit in recent years and it’s notable how many people no stay on the DLR past Stratford as the population has grown.

Of course the Olympics acted as a catalyst for much of the area but this particular area has lagged somewhat.

Streets nearby give a European feel with mid-rise blocks lining the streets. A decently-sized green space sits near the DLR station.

Streets nearby

It’s all a bit of a triumph and a big improvement from some dire earlier buildings in Stratford constructed in the 2000s and 2010s.

Upon completion the two towers – developed by Telford Homes – will see 380 flats.

Render of completed development

It’s located on what was once a bus station and would have served those arriving on Eurostar – except Eurostar never called and the station is only served by Southeastern’s HS1 services.

Full completion is expected in 2026.

In coming years development should start nearby at other vacant plots as this area continues to grow – alongside the number of passengers using Stratford International stations.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks
