Greenwich pub conversion to flats sees new details submitted

A Greenwich pub which closed back in 2020 is to become flats after plans were approved.

The Royal Standard on Pelton Road wasn’t one of the areas better known pubs in the years before closure compared with the nearby Pelton Arms, though it had traded for 150 years.

Plans were submitted back in 2023 and covered on this site at the time. Approval was given in 2024 and a construction plan has recently been submitted.

Back in 2023 the application stated: “The Site is located within the East Greenwich Conservation Area, but is not identified as a positive contributor to the Conservation Area”.

“The existing building is not statutory listed but is on LBG’s Local Heritage List as an early Victorian pub”.

The plot will see a rear extension and six flats on site. A timeline included within a recent document puts the start date as 1st May 2025.

As a private renter living costs are very high and ads bring in relatively little to the site. I run it alone, and you can support me through Paypal with a one-off or monthly donation here

Another option is via Patreon with offers monthly payments by clicking here

Finally there's the Ko-fi option

Many thanks

There's also a Facebook page for the site here

I've lived in south east London most of my life growing up in Greenwich borough and working in the area for many years. The site has contributors on occasion and we cover many different topics. Living and working in the area offers an insight into what is happening locally.
